Infants
Our Infants Program begins at 4 months through to 3 years, with a focus on water confidence and safety skills. Through fun and play we nurture a life time of love for the water.

4-12 Months / 8 children in a class
With a parent in the water, this is the ideal opportunity to introduce your child to the aquatic environment. Through repetition, songs & activities encourage your child to explore and develop confidence in the aquatic environment.

Skill Focus
Parent assists child to enter and exit the water with correct safety technique.
Responds in a positive way to both water over the head and movement through the water.
Physical readiness and the ability to respond to verbal and visual cues as readiness for submersion.
Parent successfully submerges child with correct hold and movement technique.
With support from a front position, roll over into a backfloat, parent able to roll infant.
Demonstrate propulsive movement with their arms and hands.
The ability to grip onto pool edge with assistance.
With support child drops down off the wall, turns around underwater and recovers to hold onto wall.
Parent is actively involved in the lesson and engages with their child throughout the lesson.
Demonstrate propulsive movement with their legs and feet.

12-24 Months / 8 children in a class
With a parent in the water and the knowledge of our instructors, this level will encourage and educate both child & parent on the basics of water safety. We aim to teach the child a love & respect for the water through activities & games.

Skill Focus
Parent assists child to enter and exit the water withcorrect safety technique.
A positive response to both water over the head andmovement through the water.
The ability to grip pool edge with minimal or no assistance.
Responds to visual and verbal submersion cues byclosing eyes and mouth and performing downward head tilt.
Parent successfully submerges infant with correct hold and movement technique.
The ability to demonstrate propulsive movement with their legs and feet.
The ability to demonstrate propulsive movement with their arms and hands.
With support from a front position, roll over into aback float, parent able to roll infant.
With support child drops down off the wall, turns around underwater and recovers to hold onto the wall.
Parent is actively involved in the lesson and encourages learning through discovery and play.

24-36 Months / 8 children in a class
With the guidance and support of the instructor, parents are encouraged to participate in activities & games are utilized to develop water confidence and skills. Parents are encouraged to develop their child’s independence and exploration through stimulation and fun.

Skill Focus
The ability to perform a safe pool entry and climb out of thewater independently.
The ability to respond to visual and verbal cues and confidently submerge fully under water.
The ability to float on their back in a relaxed state, with minimal assistance.
Demonstrates blowing bubbles repetitively with breaths in between.
Demonstrate both a kick and arm action together as a continuous movement with assistance.
The ability to submerge and swim a short distance underwater with no assistance.
Kicking on their back with minimal assistance.
Becoming independent, child drops down off the wall, turns around underwater and recovers to hold on wall.
Performs all skills with the teacher willingly and happy.
Parent promotes safe, independent swimming.
